111MHz: ‘… Smoke.’ If you saw Ryûsuke Hamaguchi’s 2021 film Drive My Car, you’ve heard the work of Eiko Ishibashi, a singer-songwriter and composer in the Japanese jazz and film-scoring world. This track—drawn from her score for Hamaguchi’s subsequent film, the 2023 drama Evil Does Not Exist—is propulsive and pretty, in equal measures.
